Terms and refunds

WORLDMESSAGE is one public screen with one message on it. When you pay, you are buying the right to have your message displayed on that screen until somebody pays more than you did. That is the whole product.

There is no minimum time. Somebody can outbid you one minute after your message goes up. There is also no maximum: if nobody beats your amount, your message stays for as long as the site exists.

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, who act as the merchant of record for this site. That means they are the ones who charge your card, they are the name that shows up on your statement, and they collect whatever tax applies where you live. We never see your card details.

Payments are final. When somebody outbids you, your message comes off the screen and the money is not returned. This is stated before you pay, on the payment page, and again here.

There are exactly two cases where you get your money back:

• We reject your message in review, so it never goes on the screen.
• We take your message down after publishing it because it broke the rules below.

In both cases the refund is automatic and takes five to ten business days depending on your bank.

Every message is checked before you are charged, automatically, and a person looks at the ones the check is unsure about. Nothing goes up without passing it. We reject anything that is illegal where the site operates, or that contains:

• Sexual content, or anything involving minors.
• Threats, harassment, or attacks on people or groups.
• Personal information about somebody who did not agree to it.
• Malware, phishing, or links meant to trick people.
• Impersonation of a real person or company.
• Content you do not own or have the right to publish.

We can also take a message down after publishing it if we got it wrong the first time or if we are legally required to. If that happens, you get refunded.

You keep the rights to what you post. By posting, you give us permission to display it on the screen and keep it in the public archive.

Everything that goes on the screen stays in the archive with the amount paid and how long it lasted. Paying does not buy the right to delete it later. Removals happen only for the reasons listed above.

The minimum first bid is $2 and every new bid has to beat the current one by at least $1. The price only moves when a payment actually clears: somebody with the payment page open does not raise it for anybody else, so an abandoned or declined checkout costs you nothing and changes nothing.

Because of that, two people can be paying at the same time. If that happens and yours clears second, your message goes to the archive with your amount instead of the screen, and we offer you the option to take the screen by paying only the difference. You are never charged twice for the same message.

There are no accounts. We keep the email address you give at checkout so we can tell you how your review went, and nothing else. See the privacy note.

This is a small site run by one person. It can go down, break, or stop existing. We do not promise uptime, traffic, clicks, or any result from having your message up.
