Terms and refunds

WORLDMESSAGE is one auction with two screens on it. Every payment goes into the same list. The main screen shows the message of whoever has paid the most of all time. The daily screen shows whoever has paid the most since midnight, Uruguay time.

You pay whatever you want, from $2. There is no price you have to reach: what you pay decides where you land. Beat the top of today and you are on the daily screen; beat the most anybody has ever paid and you are on both. Pay less than either and your message is still on today's list and in the archive, with what you paid next to it.

On the main screen there is no minimum time and no maximum. Somebody can outbid you one minute after your message goes up, and if nobody beats your amount it stays for as long as the site exists. The daily screen ends every midnight: whoever is on top when the day closes keeps that day on the site permanently, and a day that has ended cannot be outbid.

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, who act as the merchant of record for this site. That means they are the ones who charge your card, they are the name that shows up on your statement, and they collect whatever tax applies where you live. We never see your card details.

Payments are final. When somebody outbids you, your message comes off the screen and the money is not returned. This is stated before you pay, on the payment page, and again here.

There are exactly two cases where you get your money back:

• We reject your message in review, so it never goes on the screen.
• We take your message down after publishing it because it broke the rules below.

In both cases the refund is automatic and takes five to ten business days depending on your bank.

Every message is checked before you are charged, automatically, and a person looks at the ones the check is unsure about. Nothing goes up without passing it. We reject anything that is illegal where the site operates, or that contains:

• Sexual content, or anything involving minors.
• Threats, harassment, or attacks on people or groups.
• Personal information about somebody who did not agree to it.
• Malware, phishing, or links meant to trick people.
• Impersonation of a real person or company.
• Content you do not own or have the right to publish.

We can also take a message down after publishing it if we got it wrong the first time or if we are legally required to. If that happens, you get refunded.

You keep the rights to what you post. By posting, you give us permission to display it on the screen and keep it in the public archive.

Everything that goes on the screen stays in the archive with the amount paid and how long it lasted. Paying does not buy the right to delete it later. Removals happen only for the reasons listed above.

The minimum payment is $2 and there is no maximum beyond a cap on how far a single payment can jump. To take either screen you have to beat whoever is on it by at least $1. Prices only move when a payment actually clears, so somebody with the payment page open does not change anything for anybody else, and an abandoned or declined checkout costs you nothing.

Because of that, two people can be paying at the same time. If that happens and yours clears second, your message goes to the archive with your amount instead of the screen, and we offer you the option to take the screen by paying only the difference. You are never charged twice for the same message.

There are no accounts. We keep the email address you give at checkout so we can tell you how your review went, and nothing else. See the privacy note.

This is a small site run by one person. It can go down, break, or stop existing. We do not promise uptime, traffic, clicks, or any result from having your message up.
